本属はイネ科を寄主植物とする。本種は世界中に広く分布し、日本では北海道～九州に分布する。前胸背板が明瞭な台形を呈し、触角第2節が外側に突出する。C. frontalisとは頭部の前方への突出が弱いことで、C. watanabeiとは触角第2節の突出が強いことで識別できる。オスは短翅型。

This genus breeds on Poacae. This species is widely distributed into the world and Hokkaido to Kyushu in Japan. It has distinct trapezoidal pronotum and antennal segment II with strong projection to outside. It can be distinguished from C. frontalis by head with weakly prolongation anterior to compound eyes and from C. watanabei by antennal segment II with strong projection. Male is macropterous.
